Cher added that people had no idea how many times she had been down, without money and without a job, but she always managed to bounce back. “My mom said it, ‘what belongs to you comes to you,'” she quoted.
The singer also divulged that her late ex-husband and musical partner, Sonny Bono, took “all” the money they made as a duo during their rise to fame. She recalled confronting him, “‘Just tell me one thing.’ I still to this day, if he came back, that’s what I’d ask him. ‘What was the moment you thought it would be right to take all my money?'”
