Meghan Markle’s Show Is All About ‘Subtly Roasting the Royal Family,’ According to Whitney Cummings

If you’re not a fan of Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, she might not really care. At least that’s what comedian Whitney Cummings thinks. On TikTok, the Whitney star explained her theory: Creating With Love, Meghan was actually just a way for Meghan Markle to “subtly roast” the royal family.

Whitney believes the show is not really for the viewers.

When With Love, Meghan came out on March 4, it was met with a lot of criticism. But Whitney believes that Meghan wasn’t really trying to make an entertaining show for the public.

“This has nothing to do with making a good show. This show, to me, is just her subtly roasting the royal family,” Whitney explained on TikTok.

Whitney went on to say that Meghan’s show “isn’t made for us.” Instead, she thinks it’s “made for, like, 30 people in that castle.”

In what ways did Meghan roast the royal family on her show?

A lot of people who watched Meghan’s show were hoping she would spill some details about royal life. To many viewers’ disappointment, she didn’t do this, exactly. Whitney still believes, however, that the several comments Meghan made on the show were her way of “subtly roasting” the royal family.

For instance, Whitney pointed to how Meghan spoke about tea on her show. “She’s like, ‘Tea is not a big deal. You just put it outside and let it steep in the sun. It’s not fancy,’” Whitney said in the TikTok. She believes members of the royal family would disagree with this assessment, as “tea is like their thing over there.”

Whitney also thinks “the fact that she’s barefoot” is making a statement.

“She’s just trolling them,” she concluded. “We’ve all posted things at someone before, right?” In the same way that people might post certain photos or messages on social media to get a specific person’s attention, Whitney thinks Meghan created her show hoping the royal family would see it.

“She’s just doing this with her in-laws, like, she’s just making this show at them,” Whitney added in the clip. “Like, it’s not for us you guys. The fact that she keeps going, ‘It’s not about perfection, it’s not about perfection’ – that’s what the royal family is all about.”

Some TikTokers agreed with Whitney’s opinion.

“This is THE take,” one person responded. “If you think Meghan is taking this serious. She isn’t.” Another person noted that Whitney’s theory made sense. “And the whole, ‘my last name is Sussex!’ This kind of makes me like her,” the person wrote.

“Love this take!” a third fan weighed in. “I think she went thru so much trauma of how things are over there that she got her life back and showing it off.. being liberated.”

Others, however, remained unconvinced. “I think she really thinks she’s the next Martha [Stewart],” another person commented.

One person wanted to believe Whitney’s theory but couldn’t. “I feel like she takes herself too seriously for this to be right. I wish this were the case – but I actually think she’s trying,” the person commented.

If Meghan really is trying to roast the royal family, they might not be too bothered by it.

Royal sources have suggested that King Charles, Kate Middleton, and Prince William all seem uninterested in Meghan’s show. A source told Vanity Fair that they can’t imagine any of them actually watching With Love, Meghan.
