Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o are turning up the heat!
The actors were photographed getting cozy in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Monday as they celebrated Nyong’o’s 41st birthday on an extended birthday trip.
In photos obtained by PEOPLE, the pair were pictured running into the ocean together, while another saw the two nearly kissing as they embraced each other seaside. The couple also kept close as they held hands and strolled on the beach in their swimsuits.
“They vacationed in Puerto Vallarta for Lupita’s birthday,” a source tells PEOPLE. “They only had eyes for each other all weekend. They kept kissing, laughing and just had the best time.”
Jackson, 45, and Nyong’o were first romantically linked in October 2023 after being spotted at a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles. The concert outing appeared platonic, as the now-couple appeared with other Hollywood friends.
The sighting came on the heels of Jackson’s split from wife Jodie Turner-Smith, who filed for divorce in early October. “They are on very different paths in life,” a source previously told PEOPLE of the decision to divorce, adding, “It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy.”
Nyong’o was also transitioning out of her relationship with Selema Masekela at the time. She also announced their split in October.
“I was living in a lot of pain and heartbreak,” she told NET-A-PORTER’s digital title PORTER. “I looked at the environment of my social media and thought I don’t want to be a part of this illusion that everything is always coming up roses. Surely there is a lesson for me to learn in this, and I just want to be real about it.”
In December, Jackson and Nyong’o seemed to confirm their relationship turned romantic when they were photographed holding hands while exploring Joshua Tree, California.
